WORKSHOPS & TRAINING
Helping educate people in our community about 2SLGBTQ+ inclusion and equity
PRIVATE WORKSHOPS
We have a variety of workshops that are pre-developed that are easily facilitated with little or no prep work for other organizations. All fees include preparation costs.
Although we offer custom workshops as well, these can be more expensive as they require research and prep time.
If you would like to request a private workshop please click on the “Request a Workshop” button below, or email contactus@urpride.ca.
Positive Space Network Program
The UR Pride’s Positive Space Network program is an educational program that teaches about building positive spaces and challenging homophobia, biphobia, transphobia and other forms of systemic violence that hurts 2SLGBTQ+ communities.
Our Positive Space Network program includes everything from our public workshops, to individualized training, to class talks, to public lectures or presentations.
Our Educators
-
Meg
Education and Diversity Manager
Meg (she/her) BA, B.Ed is a Nakota-Metis, bisexual, Two Spirit woman. She works hard to ensure that her teaching practice is accessible, relatable and kind. When Meg isn’t working as the Education & Diversity Manager at UR Pride Centre, she is probably talking to her plants or reading a good old-fashioned lesbian novel.
-
Noor
Positive Space Educator
Noor (they/she) has worked in spaces like NeuroQueer and Queer ADHD creating community, making space for being free and expressed, and helping folks learn about themselves! And now she is working in education at UR Pride and bringing her passions and skills to the second part of her life mission!
GUEST LECTURES & CLASS TALKS
Our staff can support U of R faculty and sessionals with providing guest lectures or class talks related to 2SLGBTQ+ topics. We request a donation be made to our programs in exchange for this service.
Both of our educators can provide class talks or guest lectures.
2SLGBTQ+ EDUCATION ON CAMPUS
We are also happy to provide support to faculty members & sessionals at the University of Regina who are looking for support on 2SLGBTQ+ inclusion in their classrooms. Our team can help suggest readings, offer suggestions for your syllabus, help students with assignments related to queer & trans topics, and provide guest lectures.
